Red River Stables Holiday Cottages – Reskadinnick, Camborne.
I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting and exploring the wonderful grounds of the Red River Stables Holiday Cottages in Reskadinnick.
Nestled in the heart of the Cornish countryside are three absolutely gorgeous renovated stable blocks in the grounds of Reskadinnick House.
The Red River Stables Holiday Cottages are a couples-only retreat; the accommodation presents a great excuse for a romantic Cornish getaway in beautifully designed cottages and – the best bit – your dog can join you too.
Reskadinnick House is Grade II listed and dates back to the 16th century. It was then extended by the Vivian family in Georgian times adding the main accommodation to the original medieval farmhouse. The property is surrounded by 11 acres of land that you and your four-legged friends can roam around freely during you stay. So, if you’re escaping the hustle and bustle of city life or just want a change of scenery for a few days, this is definitely the place to come and stay for a truly relaxing few days.
Now, in the 21st century it is a tranquil home to holiday cottage hosts Kerry and Chris, who also have a ‘fur-baby’ Bramble, along with some lovely free-range chickens – which, when laying, visitors are always treated to some of their fresh eggs.
Where they are…
Red River Stables at Reskadinnick are a short drive from the A30 and very close to local beaches Gwithian and Godrevy – personally two of my favourite beaches in Cornwall and most definitely worth visiting. Even if it’s just to sit in the car admiring the view while eating fish and chips – I know for sure that I am not the only local who absolutely loves doing this.
If, during your stay at the cottages you don’t fancy heading out and about, then you can use their on site outdoor swimming pool. Then make the most of your outdoor seating area in front of your cottage by picking some herbs from the garden and perhaps cooking some fresh Cornish fish on the BBQ. After that, head back indoors to the beautifully cosy living room and get the wood burner roaring. Lastly you can enjoy a cool glass of wine in the bath – a heavenly end to your day.
