What do you think of this? Sun, sea and sand, oh and food, lots and lots of food! If you think that sounds like your cup-of-tea then you need to head to the St Ives Food Festival this weekend, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May 2017.

St Ives Food Festival hosts the best food and drink Cornwall has to offer. The best bit is, the festival is being held on one of Cornwall’s most picturesque beaches – Porthminster. Food and drink traders, chef displays and live music all brought to you on a Cornish beach! I personally couldn’t think of a better way to spend my weekend, so why not join in on the fun. They’ve promised this year will be the best one yet!

Sit back, relax and listen to the waves roll in, while smelling and watching the artisan food traders and exceptionally skilled chefs do their thing! Be inspired and learn new culinary tips from the likes of, Nathan Outlaw, Jack Stein, Gizzi Erskine, Jude Kereama and Sophie Michell.

There will be a variety of artisan food and drink traders at the festival that vary from coffee and fine wine to hot dogs and waffles. There is defiantly something for everyone to enjoy. Some of the companies trading include… Knightor Winery, Brew Cornwall, Riverford Organic, Origin Coffee and The Crab Shack. Along with art and craft traders such as Weekend Journals travel book, KayCee glassware and Flint and Flame kitchenware.

Aside from the delicious food and drink stands, there is also a live music stage. There are a great selection of musicians booked for the festival, who are defiantly worth watching, and dancing to of course! The Saturday line up includes… Samba Celtica, The Dilly Boys, a DBS takeover and DJ Carl. Then on Saturday evening, The Grenaways, Kernow King, The Big Sets and Sandy Acre 7. The Sunday sessions include… Shades of Blue, Scenic Route and Georgia Dulcie to name a few.

During the lead up to the weekend there is a Food Trail through St Ives. Staring today Monday 8th and finishing Sunday 14th, local businesses will be offering various discounts throughout the week. Discounts and offers will be different each day so be sure to check out the Food Trail Map on the festival website to find out what’s on and where!

The festival is supported by many local sponsors such as… Carbis Bay Holidays, Una St Ives, SkyBar, Tarquin’s Gin, BBC Radio Cornwall, Ocean BMW, St Ives Business Improvement District, Kettle Of Fowey, South West Bars and Events, DCA, Porthminster Cafe, Truro Marquees, Origin Coffee, Meor and Kaffeen. All of these leading businesses support the weekend in order to make it a great success and must visit event in Cornwall.

Tickets cost £5 for a weekend pass. Parking is readily available throughout the town. If you can not get enough of the Cornish Food Festival scene, then Porthleven offer another great weekend of food, drink and music.
